About Lucy Phillips - Founder of Watford Singing
Originally a performer, Lucy Phillips has been a professional voice coach in contemporary styles for the past 22 years and has over 32 years experience in music and performing. She believes passionately in understanding singing techniques as a means of healthy vocal production, longevity of singing career and helping students to understand how the voice works.
During her time as a vocal coach Lucy has taught thousands of singers from beginner to signed artist. She is an expert in teaching all genres and helping students to understand how their voice works and communicating a technique, which helps them to develop quickly and identify any problems.
About Lucy:
Lucy has been singing and performing since she was five years old and has worked in musical theatre, taking roles in both the West End and Nationals Tours. She then moved on to sing in a number of contemporary bands around the UK and excelled in studio recording and session work.
Having had considerable success as a professional singer Lucy decided to broaden her career path and in 2001 she travelled to L.A., California to train as a vocal coach
She has worked with artists including Pink Floyd, Dionne Bromfield, Alex Clare, Amy Winehouse and Lawson to name but a few. Lucy has had extensive studio experience and has been regularly called upon to coach artists signed by Universal, Polydor and Sony records.
Lucy has trained professional performers for many West End musicals including: Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, We Will Rock You and The Lion King and has coached singers for TV appearances including; Strictly Come Dancing and Any Dream Will Do. She has appeared on many T.V shows and worked alongside Louie Walsh and Boyzone on the judging panel at the Carlisle Live Festival. She trained as a teacher of voice under the tutelage of world-renowned vocal teachers and during this time reached level 4 in Speech Level Singing and has taught at a prestigious vocal programme in the US. Lucy teaches regularly in both London and LA.
